Welcome to my bewitching shop of handcrafted soaps, lotions and potions!
My name is Heidi Price and I live in Ellicott City, Maryland. My soap making adventures began when I took a soap making class in 2000. I became obsessed. I was constantly making soaps for my children and soaps for friends and family. Then I decided to try my hand at other creations like lotions, scrubs, creamed soaps.... I'm still coming up with new ideas and recipes.
In 2007 I decided to start selling my creations. I became "Heidi's Handmades" and got a business license and insurance. I have been selling online under that name ever since, and it has been awesome.
In the Fall of 2009 I started The Bubbling Cauldron line for those who are into zombies, witches and vampires. My husband suggested it because he loves zombies and such. He said "Why don't you make a zombie scrub... that removes dead skin". A light bulb went off in my head and I could see my Zombie Scrub idea right before me.... among other fun ghoulish product ideas. What an amazing concept. But it certainly wouldn't work with my Heidi's Handmades creations because they are all pink and pretty things. So I decided to create a darker bath line. I was trying to think of the name while I was stirring my bubbling concoctions. That's when I came up with The Bubbling Cauldron.
But honestly, I'm not into the whole blood and guts thing - but I do enjoy creating dark, elegant and enchanting product labels and scents. I was planning to do it just for the Halloween season but had several requests from customers to sell them all year. So I've decided to continue The Bubbling Cauldron as an extension to my Heidi's Handmades business.
When I am not making bath and body products, I am busy being Mom, wife, and I love to knit. I especially love to knit hats and I have donated hundreds of hats to the homeless, the troops, cancer patients and NICU babies. It is therapeutic for me to knit, and they very much appreciate my hand knitted creations... so it's a win win.
About My Products:
My listings say that I add arsenic, toad wart extract and other crazy things to my creations, but that is not true - it's just me having fun! (Hope you didn't believe me!)
All of my soaps are really made with 100% vegetable oils and butters, such as shea butter, aloe vera, coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil and safflower oil.
My creams, lotions, and scrubs are also made with shea butter, honey, sweet almond oil and other wonderful natural skin nourishing butters and oils. But they do also contain gentle skin safe preservatives... just the right amount to keep harmful bacteria from growing in the products over time.
Some of my products even have a sort of magical power to them, I will let you in on a few little secrets...
Feeling down lately? Anything lavender is what you need. It will completely lift your spirits and lower your stress levels. Also, there was a study to find what scents turn men on the most, and the combination of lavender and pumpkin pie topped the charts!
